A century after Jelly Roll Morton’s Red Hot Peppers set the standard, pianist Andrew Oliver and drummer Hal Smith lead the OLIVER-SMITH INCOMPARABLES in a bold reimagining of rare Melrose Brothers material. Drawing on Morton’s signature arranging style—tight ensemble interplay, dynamic breaks, and driving rhythm—the band transforms overlooked stomps, blues, and rags into something vibrant, modern, and alive. This is not revival—it’s a living extension of classic jazz at its most infectious.
